The holiday season is good for businesses. We don’t mean because this is the time of year when many retailers can make up for low sales numbers. We say this because otherwise few people would venture out after the early nightfall of winter.

LEDs use far less energy than other types of bulbs found in parking lot lighting while still producing very bright light. Many other types of bulbs reduce the amount of illumination that actually makes it out of the light through filters and other parts. This doesn’t exist in most LEDs.

Since LEDs use less energy to produce light, they also put out far less heat, resulting in a longer lifespan and lower maintenance. In other types of lights, heat is a byproduct of how the light creates illumination, which is just wasted energy.

The way the produced light is used is also more efficient. The nature of LEDs means they are easy to focus on the areas you want to illuminate. The result is less light spillage into, say, the surrounding sky or the neighboring property.

After they’re installed, you have, on average, 50,000 hours of light (that’s over five years) before you need to replace bulbs. The durability mentioned above means fewer replacements from accidents or vandalism.
